FG Barnes Group has appointed TotalKare to provide heavy-duty vehicle lifting solutions for its state-of the-art truck centre in Guildford.

Its award-winning Barnes DAF division has installed two sets of four T8AC mobile column lifts to help engineers at the centre carry out a range of services including repairs, maintenance and MOTs.

The flexibility of the lifts, which have a safe working load of 7,500kg per column, means it can be deployed as a set of four, six or eight and can lift everything from light commercials through to heavy-duty multi-axle vehicles.

“As one of the largest independent DAF dealers, our truck centres are extremely busy, offering extended hours servicing at both locations in Guildford and Shoreham,” explained Alan Matthews, Service Manager at Barnes DAF.

“The addition of the two sets of TotalKare mobile column lifts enables us to work quicker and smarter, delivering real value to our customers.”

Adam Bowser, Area Sales Manager for TotalKare, added his support: “FG Barnes Group has been a terrific customer for us for several years and we are already operating our lifts in its Shoreham workshop. It therefore made perfect sense to equip the Guildford with similar lifting solutions. Engineers can work faster, have more flexibility and benefit from increased capacity so they can support even more customers.”

FG Barnes Group has also taken up a repair and maintenance AfterKare service contract with TotalKare, giving it access to the 24/7 service hotline and the peace of mind that the T8AC lifts will be regularly serviced in line with the Provisions and Use of Workshop Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).

TotalKare was recently bought out as part of a MBO led by David Hall, Chairman Mike Lord and Directors James Radford and Peter Geobey.
