As a full-range supplier for the metallurgy sector, Ulm-based KAMAG Transporttechnik offers a wide range of innovative transportation solutions for businesses operating in this industry. Worldwide, vehicles from the well-known Ulm company are successfully used, for example, at Ezz Steel, a large Egyptian steelmaker, or Taewoong, a South Korean manufacturer of steel products.

“We successfully offer all vehicles that customers need to efficiently deal with the requirements and tough demands faced throughout the entire production processes in the metallurgy sector”, said Herbert Jauch, Area Manager Sales at TII Sales, the sales and distribution company of SCHEUERLE, NICOLAS and KAMAG. “In the process, we are constantly introducing new innovations onto the market. The interchangeable drive unit for articulated vehicles that we unveiled this year is just one example of this. By simply exchanging the complete engine unit during maintenance operations, we save our customers both time and money”, added Jauch.

KAMAG Transporttechnik has developed transportation systems for meeting logistical requirements in the metallurgy industry that can cope well with extreme heat, dirt and heavy loads. As a full-range supplier, the company provides vehicles for use in production processes in steel plants with which all transportation assignments along the value chain can easily be mastered. The spectrum extends from ladle transporters for molten steel and the world’s largest slag pot carrier in U-frame and platform construction for payloads up to 150 t, through to slab transporters, industry transporters, scrap basket transporters, set-down skip loaders, compact coil transporters complete with hoods which provide protection against wind and weather as well as heavy-load trailers with electronic steering and automatic positioning aid for the driving under pallets. Ezz Steel in Egypt, relies on KAMAG industrial lift transporters with a tipping function for the handling of steel scrap, for example. These are not only extremely robust and manoeuvrable but also stand out due to the convenience of use and extensive range of safety measures integrated in the vehicle´s design. Several days ago, two slag pot carriers – each with a payload of 60 tonnes – left the Ulm production facility heading for the South Korean steelmaker, Taewoong, transported in fine style on SCHEUERLE-KAMAG K25 modular transporters. Slag pot carriers from KAMAG are used worldwide in numerous metallurgical plants and steelworks and have had a decisive impact on the modern and cost-effective transport of liquid slag.
