Further CombiMAX vehicles are working in Austria: two goosenecks, 2+3+3+4-axle bogies, one Joker-axle (countless possibilities), one add-on beam, one excavator bed and one 6-axle loading platform with pendle axle technology PA-X and excavator trough are used by the company A. Kothmaier in Mondsee.

When it’s a case of maxing out options and variety, then all roads lead to CombiMAX in the transport world. And it’s precisely this philosophy that drives CEO Alexander Kothmaier when planning his fleet of vehicles: “These days flexibility is the name of the game! Constantly changing requirements demand vehicles that meet the max in flexible use.”

Biggest trough ever for more options

As far as Kothmaier is concerned, this concept “can be used in a number of ways”. Thanks to the two goosenecks, the combinations can always be used in tandem. “The combination option with the 6-axle PA-X bogie is of great interest to us,” says Alexander Kothmaier, when discussing its special features. As one of the very first customers, the Austrians ordered a low pendle-axle PA-X trailer. 790 mm loading height, 60° steering angle and 600 mm stroke. A further highlight is that the PA-X loading surface is equipped with the biggest excavator trough available on the market: 4,240 mm long and 440 mm deep with a breadth of 900 mm!

Weight equaliser with add-on beam

Thanks to all the different options for use, Kothmaier now enjoys a huge competitive advantage. The trailer is customised to suit the job at hand. Not one kilogramme too much is added. “It is a crucial advantage when you only have to transport the actual weight that you need for the job at hand,” Alexander Kothmaier says. “In the case of high axle load concentrations, it is possible to gain extra length by using the installable telescopic centre beam (add-on beam). This means that heavy weights and long goods can be transported easily. This works extremely well with the modular CombiMAX-system.” The CombiMAX is alone in offering the concept of telescopic components. Just like many other customers, Kothmaier is delighted with this solution, which is clearly more effective, user friendly and cost effective than conventional low loader systems.
