Volvo Trucks will be showcasing what promises to be the most memorable, impressive and visually stunning range of vehicles ever to be seen on their stand at Truckfest Peterborough on 3rd and 4th of May 2015.

There will be representatives from the FL and FE range, which now starts at 10-tonnes GVW and goes up to 26-tonnes, FM and FMX construction trucks, FM, FH and FH16 tractor units as well as a Used Truck display that includes a new contract hire offer for ‘Classic’ FH and FM trucks.

An FM 8×4 tipper, equipped to the CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Cycle Safety) standard will also be on the Volvo stand.

The FM 8-wheeler, which is in the high visibility livery of the Metropolitan Police, is being used by the Commercial Vehicle Unit who police the operation and use of goods vehicles in the capital. The ‘Met’ are working with Transport for London to reduce accidents involving vulnerable road-users, via the ‘Exchanging Places’ cycle programme and the implementation of the London Safety Zone from 1st September 2015.

The 12 trucks on display will include the first appearance at Truckfest of the FH16-750 8×4 Tridem STGO CAT3 Heavy Haulage tractor unit. An additional FH16-750 6×2 tractor unit will also be used during the show for the crowd-pleasing parades in the arena.

Heavy Haulage operators, drivers and enthusiasts are in for a treat as the FH16-750 8×4 Tridem on the Volvo stand features the class leading ATO3512E overdrive 12-speed I-Shift transmission together with RTH2610F hub-reduction tandem drive axles.

While the front-axle is rated at 10-tonnes, the pusher-axle and tandem drive-axles constitute a combined bogie with a rating of 35-tonnes. As a result, the FH16-750 8×4 Tridem has a GVW of 45 tonnes.

A new Driver Development and Training FH 6×2 tractor unit and trailer will be displayed too. With its additional seating, with safety belts, for driver and three passengers, this innovative truck provides an efficient and safe, mobile learning environment for professional drivers taking part in Volvo’s nationwide Driver Development programme.

Back by popular demand – Truckfest’s visiting celebrities, including ‘darts legend’ Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams and Ronnie & Amy from the TV series ‘Lizard Lick Towing’, may also be visiting the Volvo Trucks stand over the Bank Holiday weekend.

As usual, Volvo Trucks staff and dealers will be on hand to answer questions and help visitors to the stand. As well as inspecting the trucks, visitors will also be able to purchase items from the Volvo Merchandise collection.
