ALE progress with Zubair oil field project

ALE is progressing with the DGS Zubair Oil Field Project and has transported 16 0ut-of-gauge items.

ALE received several shipments at Umm Qasr Port and has transported the items, ranging from 90t – 130t, 80km to the Zubair Oil Field job site. During the transportation, ALE faced the challenge of cutting and lifting approximately 75 power lines. A number of cranes, with a capacity ranging from 200t to 500t, are currently mobilised for offloading and installing the items onto their foundations.

ALE’s Director for Iraq, Alberto Pittaluga, said: “We are pleased with the progress made in the project so far. ALE are now starting with the installation activities on site.”

The project, which was awarded in 2015, involves the provision of heavy haulage, engineering and installation services. The project is expected to last 16 months.
