FAYMONVILLE

SPOTLIGHT: ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER

HeavyTorque Issue Four: Faymonville

TRAILBLAZING TRAILERS

RECENTLY A GROUP OF SPECIALIST TRANSPORT OPERATORS VISITED FAYMONVILLE’S PRODUCTION FACILITIES IN BELGIUM AND LUXEMBOURG. THE MANUFACTURER’S ‘DEMO DAYS’ SHOWCASED AWARD-WINNING TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS, ALONGSIDE AN EXTENSIVE RANGE OF EXISTING PRODUCTS. BOB BEECH WAS THERE, AMONGST THE HYPE AND PITCHES, TO GIVE US THE MEASURED LOW-DOWN ON THE LOADERS – AND THE HEAVIES’ AWARD-WINNING COMBIMAX...

The Faymonville group of companies is still under the direct control of the founding family: its sixth generation, brothers Alain and Yves Faymonville, head this diverse operation. The simple village blacksmith’s forge where things began is a long way from modern world-wide business trading, yet the company has maintained refreshingly short lines of communication between senior managers and the factory floor. Decisions regarding any aspect of the operation are swiftly implemented; innovative changes to products and production methods can be quickly introduced. This means improved product for customers, and greater efficiency overall.
