AT PRESENT HEAVY TRANSPORT COMPANIES AND SPECIALISTS IN OVERSIZED CARGO MOVEMENT HAVE A WIDE CHOICE BETWEEN MANUFACTURERS FOR SPECIAL TRAILERS. AMONG THESE ARE THE DUTCH BASED COMPANY TSR SPECIAL TRAILERS. A RELATIVELY UNKNOWN NAME IN THE UK TRAILER MARKET, THEY OFFER A VERY WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS FOR HEAVY HAULAGE TRAILERS, WITH A QUALITY THAT MATCHES TOP EUROPEAN MANUFACTURERS.

TSR Special Trailers is located in a small town called Gendt, near the Cities of Arnhem and Nijmegen. The headquarters are deceptively small: offices and a workshop. Outside are a couple of trailers, ready for delivery. Roy Kreuzen, responsible for the daily sales activities, says: “Don’t be fooled by the humble appearance. We have another huge facility in Poland, where actual production takes place. But here, in Holland, is where the whole process – from manufacture to sale to final delivery – is managed.” The team in Holland is completely responsible for the final product: the engineering and development of the trailers, the purchase of all necessary materials for assembly, and the sales and service department – all controlled from HQ, Gendt.

Roy elaborates: ”We consciously chose to produce in Poland. Not just for the low labour costs – this isn’t even remarkable nowadays – but more because today Polish people are much more adept at handcraft than the Dutch. Which can only improve quality. And the Poles are well known for their hard-working mentality. We are able to guarantee our “Dutch” quality because one of us is always present on the factory floor to guide the production. All trailers are continuously monitored, at each of the production stages. When finally completed, the trailer is then transported to Holland and is subject to a comprehensive quality check before delivery to the customer.

“Naturally, our trailers are only manufactured with top quality parts: the braking-system, axles, steel and lighting-system are sourced from top European suppliers. Quality is proven with our ISO9001 certification and COP certificate. This efficient production process, along with our low overheads, means we can maintain a high level of quality but remain competitive in our pricing.”
