Van der Vlist have recently been helping with sections for a new 162m high tower in the southern UK city of Brighton.
The job involved moving tower sections for the Brighton i360 tower, at up to 12m long and 66,5 tonnes, they varied in diameter- from 3,9m up to 4,5m meaning that although low loaders were suitable for the smallest, vessel bridge trailers were required for movement of the largest ones, to make the transport height as low as possible.
In total 17 of the tower sections needed to be moved from Roermond, firstly to Ijsselstein to have some work done, and then on to Krimpen aan den Ijssel, from where they will be able to move onwards to the UK, and will be constructed on the waterfront site, which is expected to be completed and open to the public in the summer of 2016.
