A completely new 6000m2 production hall, as large as a football field, is currently under construction at our 100,000m2 premises. The new factory hall will be used to cut, bend and weld our own steel components. This is currently done externally by suppliers, and will all be under our own management as of early 2018. A number of preparatory tasks will also be done in this factory, which will open up new production space at the current location to be able to build more trailers.
Aside from the production hall, we are also investing in the latest production equipment to make sure that you can count on the best materials on and in your trailer. For instance, we are investing in:
• 2D laser cutter to cut steel plates
• Three heavy press brakes to bend steel parts into all kinds of shapes. The drawings by our innovative engineering department are read into these press brakes directly.
• 3D profile laser for cutting/shortening/making holes in U-profiles/cylinders/tubes
• In the farther future, space has also been reserved for to constructions to be welded by robots
“We have consciously chosen to do everything ourselves,” explains Pieter-Bas Broshuis. “This enables us to get to work more quickly and it is the best way for us to guarantee the quality.
We are known for the quality and toughness of our trailers. We want to maintain that reputation, and that requires investment in our production equipment. Over the past 10 years, we have invested a total of over 30 million euros in better quality, more capacity and especially more efficient production. We invest in employment in the Netherlands.”
The factory hall is scheduled to be ready by the end of 2017. You can come see the factory with your own eyes at the Broshuis event on 13 January 2018.
